A lot of people have asked me recently, “Why do you make art?” Surprisingly, it’s taken me quite a while to come up with a worthwhile answer. I don’t make art because I’m nuts, I make art because I’d go nuts if I didn’t. Keeping in mind that art making equals my sanity, I usually find something that upsets me and that will kick-start the whole art making process. So I make art because I am addicted; so far in my life it does not appear to be a voluntary action.
